Class Expectation
As a student, I expect you to be an active participant in the learning process. Your input, both in discussion and in written form, are vital to the success of the class. In essence, you get out of this course what you put in. You are welcome to disagree, question, and refute anyones' ideas (including my own) as long as it is done in a respectful manner. You don't have to agree with your classmates, but you do have to respect their right to have a different perspective from you. Once again, the success of the class depends on your efforts to be an inquisitive skeptic, and actively take part in the overall process.

Blog Week 1
My name is John Campbell, and I teach at Bellevue East. I've been there about 14 years, and I teach creative writing and forensics. I also coach the forensics team and sponsor the school literary magazine. Before that, I taught at Marrs Middle School for four years, where I taught English. I went to college in Lincoln at Nebraska Wesleyan, and I student taught in Australia at the Mathew Flinders School for Girls in Geelong. Both my parents were/are teachers, as are three out of my four siblings.
I've been lucky to have worked in great building with great staffs so far in my teaching experience. Some of my closest relationships over the years have been the fellow educators I have had the pleasure of working with. Additionally, I have definitely learned more observing my colleagues than virtually anywhere. Whether it's different types of technology to use in the classroom, or simply an idea for how to get a concept across in a different way, the teachers I've worked with have been great.
I am personally a Mac person, mainly because my wonderful wife, who is much more tech-savvy than I am, has told me that's what I'll be. Thus far, I agree with her suggestion. I use tech in class all the time. From simple search engines, to more complicated visual programs, I use a wide variety of different tech applications in the classroom.
